The College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is happy to welcome new staff!
Sean FitzGerald, Practice Advisor. Sean graduated from the University of Alberta in 2002 with a BSc in Animal Biology. He then spent time upgrading and playing professional basketball overseas before returning to the University of Alberta to complete his MSc in Physiotherapy in 2007. After graduation, he spent two years working at the Hinton Healthcare Centre in outpatients, pediatrics, and inpatients. In 2009, he purchased Jasper Physiotherapy & Health Centre, which he continues to own today.
Sean has been extensively involved as a Clinical Instructor, where he teaches and mentors multiple students from Canada, Europe, and the U.S. every year. Sean is certified in medical acupuncture and continues to take courses in order to stay current. He is a member of FCAMPT, was on the Admissions Committee at the University of Alberta and is a past president of the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
During his free time, Sean likes to spend time with his family outdoors, which includes activities like skiing, climbing, and biking. He also volunteers as a Firefighter, a coach, and is the chair of the Jasper Hospital Foundation.
Shereese, Registration Coordinator. Prior to joining us, Shereese has gained over 20 years of experience as an Executive Assistant in the Financial and Health Care industry. In her previous role at The Schmidt Investment Group, she was one of the leads for client events and worked closely with professional partners and service providers to coordinate and deliver the extensive suite of Family Office Services. Shereese has also worked with the Senior Medical Officer of Health for Public Health, coordinating with all Medical Health Officers throughout Alberta to make sure the requirements and needs of Alberta’s healthcare system were met.
During Shereese’s free time, she enjoys exploration, international travel and adores the Canadian Rocky Mountains. She loves to hike, cross-country ski, kitesurf, and is currently seeking her AST1 and Padi license, so she can extend her outdoor activities into backcountry skiing and deep-sea oceans.
Margot Magnan, Communications Assistance. Margot is currently in her final semester of the Bachelor of Communication Studies program at MacEwan University. She looks forward to graduating and starting her career in the Communications field. During Margot’s free time, she enjoys cycling, skiing/snowboarding, and cooking.
