On November 19, 2022, the Council of the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta (CPTA) approved the Post-Graduate Clinical Examination Eligibility Policy. This eligibility policy will be applied to future Post Graduate Clinical Examination administrations. The eligibility policy can be found here.
CPTA has an agreement with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, Continuing Professional Education Unit (CPE unit) of the University of Alberta to administer the Post-Graduate Clinical Examination.
Future examinations will be administered on:
- October 14 and 15, 2023
- February 10 and 11, 2024
Please note that the February 2024 examination dates are different than originally posted. They have been updated to February 10-11, 2024. We apologize for the inconvenience.
CPTA expects to begin accepting registrations for the Post-Graduate Clinical Examination for both the October 2023 and February 2024 examination administrations by the end of May.
Examination registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. When an examination date reaches capacity, registration for that date will no longer be available.
Individuals registered on the CPTA’s Provisional Register will receive a direct email from the CPTA when registration opens for a Post-Graduate Clinical Examination and is available in their Member Portal.
Former regulated members of the CPTA whose registration was cancelled January 1, 2017 or later, will only be notified when registration opens IF they have provided their contact information using the form. Individuals belonging to this group are no longer regulated members; therefore, CPTA does not have accurate, up-to-date contact information for these individuals. Only individuals who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Eligibility Policy should complete the form. The College of Physiotherapists of Alberta will be verifying eligibility based on its registration records.
All individuals registered on CPTA’s Provisional Register and eligible former regulated members who have provided their contact information as required above will receive a direct email providing notice of the date when examination registration will open.
