Each year, physiotherapists on the General Register participate in two Continuing Competence Program activities: a Self-Selected Activity and a College-Selected Activity. Both support physiotherapists' learning and growth.
Self-Selected Activity
It is time to start thinking about the Self-Selected Activity you will complete and reflect on in your Practice Improvement Record before September 2025.
The Practice Improvement Record is now available in your Member Portal. You may complete the Practice Improvement Record as soon as you complete your Self-Selected Activity or anytime before renewing your practice permit in August/September 2025.
Not sure what qualifies as a Self-Selected Activity? This is an activity you choose to DO provided it results in significant, meaningful, and sustained improvement in both your personal competence, and either patient care practice or physiotherapy/health-care services.

Registered but not working? Planning to cancel your registration?
There are three things you need to know:
- You must participate in all competence program requirements whether you are working or not.
- You must participate in all competence program requirements whether you remain registered for the entire year or part of the registration year.
- You must complete the 2024/2025 competence program activities during the 2024/2025 registration year (between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025).
