Regulated physiotherapists on the General Register are required under the Health Professions Act to participate in the College's Continuing Competence Program.
The 2024 College-Selected Activity is on the topic of informed consent.
This topic was selected as the 2024 College-Selected Activity due to:
- The critical importance of valid informed consent to physiotherapy practice.
- The recurring theme of informed consent as a part of the complaints and concerns brought to the College by patients and members of the public.
- The many challenges and complexities of informed consent encountered when providing physiotherapy services.
Requirements
You will not be able to renew your practice permit in August/September 2024 without first completing the 2024 College-Selected Activity.
More information about the 2024 College-Selected Activity, including the mandatory activities for 2024, will be posted on the College’s website before July 1st. You will also be sent an email when the learning activities are released. The email will be sent to the email address on your member profile.
