2024 is the second year the College of Physiotherapists has followed the competency-based appointment process for vacancies on Council. Applications from interested candidates were collected between February 1, 2024, and March 1, 2024, and eleven applications were received. The Governance Committee was impressed by the level of interest of regulated members in this process. The Governance Committee with the support of an external consultant reviewed all applications based on the skills matrix and selected candidates to be interviewed.
Based on a review of the applications submitted and interviews held with candidates the Governance Committee made recommendations to the Council for appointment.
The Council has appointed Melissa Merritt and Heather Bredy to a three-year term on Council.
