It's illegal to practice physical therapy and/or use the title physical therapist or physiotherapist without being licensed by the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta. To help ensure the delivery of safe, competent physical therapy, the College makes its member register available online. Employers are expected to confirm that physical therapist employees have a valid practice permit and know of any license conditions and authorised activities.

Physical therapist register

All physical therapists currently licensed with the College are listed in the register along with any conditions imposed on their practice permit (i.e., license) and any authorised activities permitted. Physical therapists are required to renew their practice permit annually. Registration confirmation is available by phone if/when online access isn’t available. Please contact the College if the physical therapist’s name is not listed.
